Abstract
This work consists in the presentation of a project aiming at developing the management control possibilities in GSK Vaccines’ distribution department. Indeed, with the increased digitalization of enterprises and the inclusion of modern interconnected systems, the role of the management controllers within companies had to evolve. Nowadays, management controllers do not only have to supervise the compliance of the activities with the intern policy of companies, they increasingly have to be source of improvement of those activities. This improvement is coming from the increasingly strategic role they are playing and their data mastery fostered by the inclusion of the integrated systems. The project presented in this report can be considered as an example of tools that can be instituted in companies to help the management controllers in their new responsibilities by providing them an interactive mean to analyze the data. This new budget monitoring tool aims at developing the advantages of the data centralization of the ERP for the control management activities. The presentation of the project is made of five main parts describing the context of the enterprise, the presentation of the expectations about the new tool, a presentation of the previous tool used in the company and its limitations, the detailed description of the new tool and all its features, and finally the possibilities to increase the scope of the project to foster even more the analyze capacities of the management controller. The report concludes by highlighting how this tool is helping the management controller of GSK Vaccines’ distribution activities to perform a more supportive role in the organization.
