Abstract
The aim of this master's thesis is to close the research gap on the potential of Carnot Batteries in energy systems when used under operation conditions, by providing a framework to investigate the potential of integration of a certain type Carnot Battery (namely, Rankine-base Carnot Batteries) in a certain energy system (the one of the Louvain-la-Neuve campus of UCLouvain). A Rankine-based Carnot Battery off-design model is proposed and UCLouvain energy system behavior is studied through a multi-objective optimisation on the costs and greenhouse emissions.
