- Abstract
- With globalization, firms are expanding their business abroad and want to find opportunities for development. This is the case for multinationals, but also SMEs willing to take risks. The Belgian cosmetic manufacturer “Wash Wash Cousin” wanted to establish a ranking of 5 countries where they thought of exporting their business: Switzerland, Norway, Italy, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates. Therefore, the research question is the following: “What are the top 5 most pertinent countries for the internationalization of “Wash Wash Cousin SRL”?”. Based on the inter-country market selection of Sowoboda and al. (2007) and on the 6 dimensions (market potential, legal, politics, infrastructure, economics, and culture) of Wood and Roberston (2000), the goal was to compare the 5 countries based on quantitative indicators and with normalized data. With this systematic approach, the final ranking came out as follows: Switzerland, Norway, the United Arab Emirates, Italy and finally Jordan.
