- Abstract
- This dissertation reviews 150 comments of an ibis budget hotel in Paris and aims to compare the subjectivity among reviews in the following different ratings: very poor (1-3), okay (5-7) and superb (9+). We propose a subjectivity framework and examine some of the features at the sentence-level (polarity and gradability, punctuation marks, lengthening, repetition and capitalization of words, extreme case formulations (ECFs), emoticons) and at the document-level (traveler’s status, review completeness, NegativeOnly, complaints, PositiveOnly, praises and review incentives). Through the examinations, we try to find out the subjectivity tendency among the reviews with the three rating scores.
