- Abstract
- The recent regain in interest in space exploration and the newly breakthrough in rocket science create the need for “ready to use” space structures. The objective of this thesis is to study the requirements of the conceptualization process of such a structure. To help us in this process, we studied the local conditions in space and defined a space referential. This referential pointed out the technical requirements our habitat has to fulfil. By making the state of the art of space structures currently in development, we learned what kind of strategies is efficient against this newly created referential. Based on those knowledges, we were able to stand a list of all the issues we had to take care of when designing our habitat. This list helped us building the decision tree we used to choose the final form of our habitat. Habitat which, finally point out the difficulties related to space construction in general. Before calling our concept a “ready to use structure”, a consequent number of hypotheses needs to go throw a validation process. However, the technological breakthrough space construction need has a certain potential on earth.
