Abstract
This document proposes the comparison of three Brinkman penalization methods transposed to the Vortex Patricle-Mesh framework. Those methods are an iterative approach suggested by Hejlesen, and the non-iterative implicit approaches on velocity and vorticity. The Brinkman penalization term is studied, applied to a flow past a cylinder and rightly compared to the corresponding potential flow. The simulations performed by the three considered methods are finally presented and validated for an impulsively started flow past a cylinder.
