- CONFIDENTIAL This thesis aims to answer the following research question: “What does the future hold for GSK Vaccines’ distribution? An assessment of a new distribution strategy integrating a Logistics Service Provider.” The question found its origin in the fact that GSK Vaccines has realized its distribution management has reached its limits. The division is therefore looking for new solutions. Therefore, the objective of this supply chain related thesis, is to evaluate and recommend GSK Vaccines a future strategic distribution model that best suits its requirements. As a matter of fact, there exists an opportunity in the model developed between the two other GSK’s business units and a LLP. After having depicted the LSP market, the logistics trends and analyzing the current GSK Vaccines’ strategy and operating model, we define the criteria and their strategical requirements that will be used to assess the different distribution models. First, the assessment of the existing LLP model is conducted. Yet, founded on the believe that GSK Vaccines should also consider alternative options that leverage LSPs, two additional models are also evaluated. The thesis ends with a comparative analysis of the different options and the recommendation for GSK Vaccines.
