Abstract
Today’s competitive environment has turned increasingly global. Companies serve world-spread customers and as such, rely on global supplier bases. This globalization is reflected by reflected by a corresponding trend in supply chains. Information and material flow now come and go all over the globe. Consequently, supply chain management has intensely complexified in the last decades. As a response, supply chain literature allowed for the emergence of a new concept: supply chain integration. This concept fosters enhanced collaboration among supply chain partners and the breaking down of organizations’ functional silos. Sonaca Group, among many others, has seen its operations deeply impacted by globalization. Having now to manage suppliers and manufacturing plants in Brazil, China, USA, Belgium and several other countries, the aerospace-active organization embraced supply chain integration. This thesis will depict the micro-level practices of supply chain integration within Sonaca Group. A comparison will be drawn between the supply chain literature and the empirical situation. Ultimately, this thesis will advocate for further integration at Sonaca and will detail how to reach it.
