Abstract
Inventory management is one of the most strategic parts of the supply chain. For years, different technologies have been developed and used in companies in order to reduce human contribution and make more optimal all the different processes. Inventory management is one of the process that has been improved thanks to technologies. However, even if optimality is searched and can be made possible, different challenges and issues can also be pointed when reducing human contribution. This master thesis is in line with the implementation of automated orders in some Di stores. This aims at finding improvements that could be implemented in the inventory management. This master thesis will thus cover two major parts. First, a theoretical contextualization will allow to better understand the different concepts linked to this topic, such as supply chain automation, inventory management and the different challenges that are risen by these. A review of the potential parameters and objectives that could be used in inventory management will also be given. Then, the case study of Distriplus will be reviewed, with the implementation of the project as well as its results before detailing the potential improvements that are possible. Some of these improvements will be tried and tested, to have a precise idea of the success of failure of these on the different company's objectives as well as on the different stores' performance. After having assessed the impacts, different recommendations will be addressed to the company.
