- Abstract
- The Doha Round was launched in Doha, Qatar in 2001 with the aim to achieve trade facilitation through the reduction of barriers to trade. It also aimed to provide developing countries support to implement the existing WTO agreements. However, many issues were encountered which led to mild results. The issues ranged from the use of subsidies to the use of IP rights. At the same time, calls have been made to reform the WTO and make it more in line with the expectations of the parties around the table. How far have the issues at the Doha Round compromised the efforts to reform the WTO?
