Abstract
This master thesis has the goal to analyse the impact of Sovereign Wealth Funds' investments on the stock market during the financial crisis of 2007-2009. During that time, the world economy were facing liquidity problems and needed to recover by borrowing money from several financial institutions. Among them, the Sovereign Wealth Fund represented a really good solution since their liability-free side made them trustworthy investment partners. The link between those two factors ended up as our research question. In an attempted to answer it, we firstly made a global research concerning the SWFs. We then researched information about that particular crisis and made appropriate links with those SWFs. Thanks to those analysis, we first computed the abnormal return, representative as the reaction of the market and then chose variables related on 38 of the biggest listed companies based in Europe and likely to have contributed to the impact by studying their effect on the abnormal return.
