- Abstract
- This thesis provides several elements of answer to a specific question: How are ICT entrepreneurs supported in social-driven support organizations (SO) as compared to traditional ones? To answer this question, a theoretical framework has been created based on the literature on support of ICT entrepreneurs in business or technologic SO. After having done this, empirical data was gathered through personal interviews in French and Singaporean social support organizations, with the goal of having an empirical base for comparison. This thesis highlights important elements in the comparison, such as the necessity to build more links with research centers for social SO to host knowledge-based digital enterprises. Moreover, it found that the knowledge sharing and collaboration dynamics at hand in the social sector were a strong advantage for these communities. Therefore, it argues that a partial or total entrepreneurial path in a social support structure can benefit to a whole community of digital entrepreneurs.
