- Abstract
- This thesis contributes to the current growing literature on crowdfunding as an alternative financing channel. Focusing on in the fixed income market, this paper analyzes and discusses the latent interrelations between online lending platforms, monetary financial institutions and macroeconomic activity, and aims to depict its implications from a risk prudential perspective. Using data from all of UK’s largest internet-based platforms, the ambition of this paper is essentially to provide valuable insights on the rewards as well as risks that crowdlending may pose to the financial sector.
