Abstract
enThis thesis investigates magical systems in India and their connection to Hinduism and Islam. As opposed to previous research, focused on highlighting syncretic elements between Hinduism and Islam, our work aims to shed some light on the etymological issue, central to the difficulties in understanding occult practices. We examine this phenomenon with a multidisciplinary approach, by using various human science fields.
