Abstract

My 21st century blues, Adieu les monstres e MADAME sono degli album decisamente introspettivi e ricchi di emozioni. Le loro prefazioni ci introducono nell’universo intimo degli artisti, dove l’Io della penna si confonde con l’Io biografico delle cantanti-scrittrici e con le loro voci. Raye, Kalika e Madame tracciano attraverso i loro album un percorso passionale e narrativo. Il percorso passionale trova origine nelle difficili prove dell’infanzia che hanno vissuto e che dipingono in canzoni. Non sono tanto queste prove e le canzoni in cui sono raccontate a interessarci, ma piuttosto il modo in cui influenzano la realtà delle cantanti, portandole ad affrontare gli estremi. Questi estremi sono alla radice stessa dell’eccentricità che caratterizza le opere, sia a livello tematico che formale, vocale, verbale e visivo. My 21st century blues, Adieu les monstres and MADAME are decidedly introspective and emotionally rich albums. Their prefaces introduce us into the intimate universe of the artists, where the pen's self mingles with the biographical self of the singer-writers and their voices. Raye, Kalika, and Madame trace through their albums a passionate and narrative path. The passionate path originates in the difficult childhood trials they experienced and paint in songs. It is not so much these trials and the songs in which they are recounted that interest us, but rather how they influence the reality of the singers, leading them to face extremes. These extremes are at the very root of the eccentricity that characterizes the works, both thematically and formally, vocally, verbally, and visually.
