- Abstract
- As the environment is increasingly seen as an essential part of our world, legislation has been adapted to reflect this. Since 2014, the European Union has required certain companies to report on the environmental impact of their activities. Since then, a great deal of legislation has been introduced, with varying degrees of restrictiveness. In this brief, we will highlight these laws, as well as their ins and outs. As this dissertation was carried out as part of an internship at John Cockerill, the research focuses on the company itself. What is the impact of environmental legislation on an international company with over 6,000 employees that specializes in creating technological solutions to the problems of our time? That is what we will be looking at in this thesis.
