Abstract
New technology has been present in our daily lives and society for some years now. It is in this context that we will question the adaptation of new technologies within the cultural domain and in particular through heritage sites. This study will attempt to analyze the positioning of heritage institutions in relation to these new technologies. Choosing one multimedia rather than another for the scenography of one's site is the subject of a long thoughtful process in which the public is the main target. This study will briefly present different examples of museum, heritage or exhibition institutions that have used digital technology in their mediation. We will then study three case studies: the Abbey of Villers-la-Ville, the underground passages of the Citadel of Namur and the Palace of Versailles. We will try to understand the development of their heritage through new technologies. After announcing their strategies, a public survey was carried out in parallel in order to compare the primary objectives of these three case studies and the impressions of the anonymous respondents. Finally, we will find out if technology and culture can go together and be adopted by the general public.
