Abstract
This thesis explores the optimisation of business process digitalisation by combining Agile and Waterfall approaches, focusing on the Odoo ERP system. Given the high failure rate of digital transformation initiatives, this study aims to identify recurring challenges and propose practical solutions. The literature review covers all the theoretical concepts that will be used to evaluate project management methods. On a practical level, we conducted qualitative research involving semi-structured interviews of eight Odoo implementation projects. This enabled us to identify recurring challenges, including the involvement of third-party systems, the alignment and standardisation of stakeholder requirements, the decision between incremental and Big Bang implementation approaches, the choice of Agile framework, and the balance between detailed analysis and flexible development cycles. We then made recommendations for mitigating the above challenges. The results of this thesis offer valuable strategies for improving the success of digital transformation initiatives.
