- Abstract
- This Master thesis is divided into three main parts: the introduction, the partial translation, and the translation commentaries. Fairy tales and stories in general are the main topic of this work. The introduction presents an overview of tales and stories in various academic fields such as Psychology and Ethnology. A non-exhaustive comparison of tales’ place between Morrocco and Ireland was established. The importance of the oral tradition has also been covered and the opinions on that topic from different storytellers was given. The concepts of archetypes, folklore, education, mythology, memory—among others—are all presented in this thesis. The translation commentaries explain the main guidelines followed to enable translation problem-solving. There is also a presentation of some translation difficulties faced and the decision made to solve the problems.
