Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is the in-depth analysis of Decentralized Finance as a potential future financial system. In an increasingly globalized and interconnected world, we wanted to understand the ins and outs of a new and increasingly popular technology, the Blockchain. Blockchain is the underlying technology of Decentralized Finance, which allows capital owners to connect with capital seekers without having to go through a trusted financial intermediary. As students in financial management, we wanted to shed light on this new way to better understand how it works and the innovative perspectives it offers for the future. Our comparative qualitative analysis allows us to understand each of the components of a financial system by comparing the traditional financial system and the new decentralized system.
