- Abstract
- The objective of this dissertation project is to determine the effects of combinations between an arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus (Rhizophagus irregularis) and microalgae (Chlorella vulgaris, Scenedesmus dimorphus and Scenedesmus obliquus) on biostimulation of Solanum tuberosum cv. Bintje and its biocontrol on Phytophtora infestans, as well as to characterise the growth of P. infestans when put in competition on a culture medium with the above-mentioned microalgae. The experiments for the first objective were carried out in a phytotron, while the experiment for the second objective was carried out in vitro. Several variables were observed and the effects of the treatments on these variables were subjected to statistical analysis. The results obtained from these experiments did not give any conclusive findings. Several protocol improvements still need to be made in order to obtain comparable results and differences between the effects of the treatments.
