- Abstract
- The recent awareness campaigns concerning the arms sales to Saudi Arabia launched in several countries have placed in the spotlight the violations of international humanitarian law and international human rights law committed by the parties involved in the Yemen conflict. Consequently, given the major operations that Saudi Arabia and the Saudi-led coalition have carried out in Yemen since March 2015, it seems relevant to take a closer look at the effects of their intervention on the resolution of the Yemen conflict. Therefore, the objective of this master thesis is to understand whether or not the proxy war waged by Saudi Arabia in Yemen produces effects on the resolution of the Yemen conflict and, as the case may be, to what extent this proxy war waged by Saudi Arabia affects the resolution of this conflict. More precisely, the study will focus on a study period which starts from 25th March 2015 to 5th November 2019. Thus, the analysis that will be carried out will aim to answer the following research question: “To what extent does the proxy war waged by Saudi Arabia in Yemen affect the resolution of this conflict, between 25th March 2015 and 5th November 2019?”.
