Abstract
Nowadays, we all use user interfaces, hoping, operating on multiple tasks, platforms and environments at the same time, but it’s not that easy especially since the user can face unexpected context of use that hadn’t been considered during the design stage. A solution was found: plasticity. In fact, this is an important challenge in the HCI field. Some articles were published on the subject, knowing that the term was introduced in 1998 for the first time. Our objective with this research was to improve our understanding of the plasticity concept by choosing a systematic review of the literature as a method of investigation. We have highlighted different results from 72 studies, which were systematically collected. The first part of the thesis provides a synthesis of knowledge of user interface plasticity by highlighting the link between plasticity and management information systems. The second part presents interesting trends, retained from our sample of 72 studies, in order to help practitioners and researchers to be more informed for their research programs.
