- Abstract
- Being able to fly has long been the dream of men. In the era we live in, moving from one side of the world to the other has become a banality. The environmental and societal impact linked to the simplicity of these means of travel raises questions about the Corporate Social Responsibility of airlines. This paper aims at exploring whether CSR is integrated into the business model of legacy carrier and low-cost airline. This analysis is conducted through a business model comparison of two case studies: Air France-KLM and Ryanair. Throughout this paper, the CSR initiatives of both airlines are analyzed under distinct angles. The findings are then put into context in view of the current knowledge and discussions on the subject, and contribute to add to the existing scientific literature. This case analysis offers added value by comparing two very different companies in depth.
