- Abstract
- This research adapts the Homogeneous Two-Zone Finite Heat Release cycle for hydrogen-fueled rotary engines to predict nitric oxide (NO) emissions. This engine uses the rotational movement of a rotor to execute the four steps of internal combustion engine cycle. The simulation provides good agreement with literature and great understanding about the parameters involved in the variation of emissions such as air-fuel mixture, start of combustion, engine speed, ... However, the simulation could predict higher NO emissions than measured in future experiments due to assumptions and lack of study in rotary engine, especially concerning heat losses, influencing deeply the results.
