Abstract
The design of a new thermal packaging solution for the shipment of temperature-sensitive products requires taking into account many criteria to arrive at an optimal solution. Many different alternatives are available on the market, with different types of technologies and processes and some compromises must be considered to achieve the best solution for the company. This thesis will present all these aspects before the implementation of a new thermal packaging solution for the shipment of vaccine samples and clinical trials in GlaxoSmithKline’s Vaccines Department. With all the consequences for the company in terms of thermal efficiency, time and money.
