- Abstract
- The immigration crisis is challenging the European Union and its Member States, which are opting for more national measure than european ones. Hungary and Greece raised fences at their border in order to stem the influx of migrants coming on their soil. However, if on the one side European states feel the need to protect their people and their culture against the threat of migrants, on the other hand the latter are fleeing from civil wars, starvation and persecution. How the policies implemented by the European Union and its Member States are in line and cosistent with the European values of non discrimination and the Charter of Fundamental Rights?
