- Abstract
- This thesis is based on an internship pursued in the Supply Chain Project Team at the Johnson & Johnson office in Diegem, Belgium. Essentially, it is divided into two main chapters and covers the potential optimization of safety stock levels inside the suture portfolio of Ethicon, a Johnson & Johnson company. The first part assesses and analyzes the impact of a SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) consolidation on the amount of safety stocks held at main storage locations (MSL). The second chapter addresses the potential benefits of a Multi-Echelon inventory optimization policy thanks to the development of a custom Excel tool. Finally, main conclusions and limitations are highlighted.
