- Abstract
- This research focuses on the portrayal of Mexican and American identities in regard to the border, through cinema. It adopts a poststructuralist approach in the analysis of six films: Desierto, The Three Burials of Melquíades Estrada, A Day Without a Mexican, Sicario, The Mexican Dream and Babel. Throughout the study, the importance of popular culture reproductions for the domain of International Relations is highlighted. It focuses on immigration in the post-9/11 period and tries to understand in what sense the identities are represented in each other’s imaginary.
