- Abstract
- This thesis is divided in three parts. The first part gives an overview of what the literature considers to be the classical acquisition process to acquire a company. After this theoretical overview, I describe, in the second part, tree acquisition cases which Cockerill Maintenance Ingénierie (CMI) performed in 2016 and 2017, i.e. TargetUS, Axiome, and Transurb. The third part exposes an assessment of the quality of CMI’s acquisition process by comparing its implementation in the three case studies mentioned above with the theoretical process outlined in the first part of this thesis, as well as my own application of the due diligence and valuation of Axiome Industrie. Finally, I present several recommendations on how to improve CMI’s acquisition process. Ps: Please be advised that an Excel file exposing my work on Axiome Industrie is available by following the link on page 57 (Part 3, Section 2.1).
