- Abstract
- This thesis will focus on the supply chain in the cosmetics sector and more specifically, sustainability within all its dimensions: social, environmental, and economic. An in-depth case study analysis allowed us to understand the logic at work within the supply chain of the studied companies. Through the different interviews, it was highlighted that the understanding of sustainability and the implementation of the latter is quite limited. This is due to different factors; the opacity in the upstream supply chain (and the resulting transparency problems), the search for financial profitability, the prioritisation of other objectives, the lack of time and finally certain shortcomings in managerial skills that lead to an absence of clear long-term strategy for sustainability.
