- Abstract
- This master’s thesis investigates the changes of internal and crisis communication during the COVID-19 pandemic among the responding Belgian academic hospitals. This study focused on how these hospitals coped with the pandemic and the impact on their internal communication. To investigate this, we used several methods, including literature review, interviews with hospital communication professionals and analysis of the use of social networks in selected hospitals. This thesis also examines the changes in the tasks of communication departments and the biggest challenges they faced. Furthermore, it analyses the changes in channels before and during the crisis. Part of this study is also dedicated to working conditions, communication around vaccination and employees' perceptions towards internal communication.
