Abstract

This research, starting from a historical excursus of the African continent, aims to understand the reasons underlying the lack of development of the African economy and future prospects in relation to the policies adopted by the European Union. From an analysis of colonialism, the slave trade, infrastructural and technological structural gaps, it will be attempted to understand how, given the expected demographic increase that Africa will have over the next few decades, these deficits can be linked to the continent's history, inefficient cooperation programs and how the demographic increase will impact the European Union.
