- Abstract
- The continuous improvement of the management of heart failure (HF) is important to increase the quality of life of the patients, to decrease the mortality related to the disease and for a better allocation of ressources. measurement of biomarkers is important for the sub-phenotyping of HF patients and can lead to a more personalized care and more tailored therapies. Members of the transforming growth factor β (TGF-β) super-family are cytokines are involved in cardiac remodeling and the evaluation of their circulating levels might provide new insights to the pathophysiology of the disease but also to additional tools for the prognostication of the patients.
