- Abstract
- This thesis examines the intricate landscape of international trade between the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and China, within the context of the evolving global economic order. The DRC's wealth of natural resources and China's emergence as a global economic powerhouse have converged to shape a complex trade dynamic between these two nations. As globalization accelerates, international trade has become a pivotal driver of economic growth and geopolitical influence. China's expanding economy and quest for resources have led to significant trade engagements with countries around the world, including the DRC. This thesis conducts an in- depth analysis of the multifaceted nature of trade interactions between these two nations, shedding light on the underlying mechanisms, patterns, and implications. The exploration encompasses a comprehensive review of trade agreements, policies, and economic frameworks that facilitate the exchange of goods and services between the DRC and China. The thesis seeks to decipher the motivations driving both nations' participation in this trade relationship, examining factors such as resource needs, and strategic considerations.
