Abstract
This thesis analyzes export opportunities for medical supply chains in Kuwait, a country undergoing a major transformation of its healthcare sector. Through an in-depth study of demographic, economic, and health data, as well as existing literature on the subject, this research aims to identify key areas where Belgian companies could play a significant role. The first part of the study examines Kuwait's demographic and health characteristics, highlighting trends such as the increasing prevalence of diabetes and cardiovascular disease. At the same time, a comparison with Belgian data is made to highlight the differences and similarities between the two countries. The second part focuses on specific business opportunities for Belgian companies. Using data on healthcare spending, medical infrastructure, and market trends, this section identifies the key sectors offering the greatest growth potential for Belgian exports, such as advanced medical equipment, specialty pharmaceuticals, and digital health technologies. The analysis continues by examining the potential challenges and obstacles that Belgian companies could face when entering the Kuwaiti market. Factors such as government regulation, local and international competition, and consumer preferences are considered to develop effective entry strategies. In conclusion, this research provides a detailed and illuminating analysis of export opportunities for medical supply chains in Kuwait. The findings presented offer policymakers, healthcare professionals, and companies in the medical sector valuable insights into understanding and seizing growth opportunities in this dynamic and rapidly evolving market.
