- Abstract
- The electronic industry is an ever-evolving concept that mainly refers to the production of electronic equipment, consumer electronics and all the components of such devices. The benefits of such an industry are undeniable, it is also important to consider the significant environmental downsides that come with it. Through this thesis, we tried to participate to the efforts aiming at understanding what can be done to reduce the environmental consequences of the electronic industry. We performed a literature review and practical observations that allowed us to draw interesting conclusions and give insightful recommendations. In the end, we were able to pinpoint the most important processes that are developed in e-waste management, analyze the different factors that influence consumers’ behaviors regarding this topic and understood that our practical observations were mainly in line with our theoretical findings.
