Abstract
Today, the human race is on the brink of a revolution in the automotive industry with the arrival of self-driving vehicles. They have the potential to disrupt our current mobility system. Autonomous driving is definitely one of the trendiest topics of our time, which is why it is currently being widely analyzed under different angles. However, throughout an extensive literature review, there seems to be a lack of a systematic and effective way to assess the impact of driverless vehicles on mobility precisely. Though literature may reveal some of the expected effects of SDVs on mobility in general, it often considers SDVs as an isolated event and lacks consideration for the complexity of the overall mobility system. This is why we will provide a system-wide overview encompassing multiple variables interacting simultaneously. To reach our objective, we have leveraged the foundations of a system dynamics model. As the future is uncertain, we have proceeded to a scenario-based approach to ensure to provide a wider range of plausible outcomes.
