Abstract
This thesis investigates the potential of blockchain technology to enhance traceability in global supply chains. With globalization obscuring product origins, there's a pressing need for greater transparency and control in supply chains. Introduced after the 2008 "subprime" crisis, blockchain offers a decentralized solution, promoting transparency and trust. Through a combination of an exhaustive literature review and expert interviews, the research centers on the query: "How can blockchain improve supply chain traceability?" Findings underscore the growing consumer preference for transparent traceability and the capability of blockchain to address these needs. This research offers insights for future applications of blockchain in supply chain management.
