Abstract
This thesis focuses on the effects of music on the brain. Its foreword provides the motives for the choice of the video medium and an overview of the content of the lecture given by neuromusicologist Artur C. Jaschke, guest speaker at a conference organised by the TU Delft, which issued the chosen video. Music therapy is the subject of its introduction: the link between music and therapy, the definition and purpose of this type of therapy, its history, the profession of music therapist, the methodology and the target groups of music therapy are at the heart of it. Lastly, the script and subtitles are accompanied by comments on, among other things, translation choices made to the detriment of others, the difficulties encountered while subtitling, as well as the parameters and translation procedures used to make the subtitles read smoothly and comfortably.
