Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to analyse interest group interactions with EU policymakers for the case of the Tobacco Products Directive revision that took place between 2009 and 2014. This analysis is done through the prism of the Advocacy Coalition Framework, adopting as a research method a mix of the preference attainment method, and process tracing. The effects of three variables on interest group influence are studied: relative coalition size, resources, and coordination and coherence of objectives within advocacy coalitions.
