Abstract
This study will delve into how colonial legacies have forged a post-colonial environment that does not favour African descent communities in the Western world. It will also explore how the modern decentralized American social movement, "Black Lives Matter," has recently prompted Western European countries like the UK and Belgium to scrutinize this existing situation. The essay will initially examine how slavery and the colonial era are still portrayed, disseminated, and conveyed in public spaces in Belgium, America, and England. In the subsequent section, the essay will concentrate on investigating whether the "Black Lives Matter" movement has genuinely evolved into a global tool to combat the slavery and colonial legacy in America and Western Europe.
