- Abstract
- Plastic pollution is a global disaster that we are becoming increasingly aware of in recent decades. The BBC documentary "Drowning in Plastic" describes the harmful consequences of plastic on marine ecosystems and oceans. Indeed, plastic is a material that is used daily throughout the world. However, it is impossible to destroy it: every piece of plastic created is always present in the environment. Alternatives to reduce plastic waste, such as recycling, have been put in place. But are they enough? What are the consequences of plastic on the environment and humans? What solutions can we bring to try to save our planet? This subtitled master's thesis is structured around three parts. The first one is an introduction in French, conducted by a summary in English, in which I address the global issue of plastic pollution, after briefly discussing subtitling and documentaries. The second part includes the script of the documentary and the subtitles. Finally, my subtitling choices will be justified in the last part.
