Abstract
The main objective of the present Master's dissertation is to investigate the use of the discourse markers 'well' and 'I mean' in the genre of oral storytelling. In this regard, a new corpus made up of stories taken from the project 'The Moth, True Stories Told Live' has been compiled in order to be representative of the narrative genre in native English.
