- Abstract
- The thesis aims to research the impact of trade facilitation on export trade. In September 2013, the "One Belt, One Road" initiative was officially proposed, which opened up a new situation for China's export trade and provided new impetus and opportunities for the high-quality development of the country's foreign trade. In this study, we first introduce the level of trade facilitation in countries along the Belt and Road, and then use the extended gravity model to analyze the impact of trade facilitation on China's export flow. The research results of this thesis show that the trade facilitation level of countries along the ―Belt and Road‖ is generally low and needs to be improved. The importing country's GDP, population size, and trade facilitation have significantly boosted China's export trade. After comparing the impact of trade facilitation on China's export trade in different dimensions, it is found that the development of ports, regulatory environment, custom regulation and e-commerce business impacts China's export trade. In addition, the geographic distance between the two countries and the importing country's tariff is negatively correlated with China's export trade volume. These conclusions also provide directions for promoting trade cooperation between China and countries along the ―Belt and Road.‖
