Abstract
Traditional wooden construction has always aroused curiosity. In these times of rapid technological progress, the attraction towards this material of the past is returning to the forefront. What about today? We will try to answer this question in this paper divided into three parts. First, we will take you on a historical world tour of the methods that have made the reputation of wood construction. We will begin at its origins, since wood has been a success since the early days of mankind, commensurate with its availability and ease of implementation. We will then head to Asia to continue to the Americas and Australia before returning to Europe and Turkey. The journey will end in the 21st century by presenting the renewal of wood construction in the world. The following section will focus on the description of the framework frames of our regions since the 10th century. Finally, we will analyze three pre-Bernouilli beam theory (18th century) trusses using current Eurocode methods to observe the efficiency of these ancient structures.
