Abstract
As the use of databases in the industry is growing worldwide, so is the need of a mean to archive them for long-term preservation. This subject has been at the heart of multiple researches, following which some tools and methods have been implemented. This thesis explores the various existing database archival methods and softwares such as SIARD, RODA, and Archivematica, and test them in order to evaluate the extent of their capacities. It will also present how to use them in order to maintain the databases' integrity over extended periods, as well as ensure their retrievability independently of proprietary software.
